How Drayage Chassis Rental Works on DrayageChassis

A chassis is the wheeled frame that carries a shipping container behind a tractor. Motor carriers move containers between marine terminals, rail ramps, warehouses and yards, so they need chassis that match the container and the route.

Many carriers do not own enough chassis to cover peak weeks. Renting a chassis for the days you need it lets you keep trucks moving without buying equipment that sits idle the rest of the year.

Open Browse Chassis to see equipment listed by carriers across the platform. You can filter by chassis type, number of axles, maximum daily rate, and the location shown on each listing. Only chassis that are available to rent appear in results.

Open a listing to see its details: the carrier that owns it, the equipment type, capacity, daily rate, and its inspection history. Read the inspection records before you rent.

Rentals are paid with credits from your wallet. Each listing has a daily rate in credits. Checkout shows the amount, your current balance, and the balance after the rental, so you know the cost before you confirm.

New accounts start with 100 credits. If your balance is too low for a rental, checkout tells you how many more credits you need and links you to the wallet.

Each confirmed rental appears in Active Rentals and Transactions. You can download your transaction history as a CSV file from the Transactions page, and each receipt lists the chassis, the daily rate and the total credits.

Once a rental is paid, you can leave a review of the equipment and the carrier from the Reviews page. Reviews are tied to rentals that were paid for, so every review comes from a real rental.
